About

Erik Takuichi Wallace grew up in Bellingham, WA playing in and recording various bands in the local music scene since 2009. After graduating from Fairhaven College in 2013 with a concentration focused in audio technology, ethnomusicology, and social identity Erik founded his freelance audio business, Shibusa Sound, and began working as a professional recording, mixing, mastering, and live sound engineer in the greater Pacific Northwest region. Having worked on over 200 releases and run live sound and various mid-sized venues in the last decade and a half, Erik has stayed busy mastering new techniques and gaining new experience. In 2016 he joined the teaching staff at Fairhaven College to take over instruction of the two introductory classes within the Audio Technology, Music, and Society Minor and has gone on to take over as the Recording Studio Coordinator for the Salish Sea Studio and Fairhaven Recording Studio, and as the instructor of the studio recording courses.

In addition to teaching and continuing to work as a freelance audio engineer Erik is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for local non-profit all-ages arts venue Make.Shift Art Project
