Dr. Steven Sehman teaches in the Audio Technology, Music, and Society minor at Fairhaven College. His focus areas include sound studies, music production, sound synthesis, and film music. Sehman’s teaching encompasses critical engagement with sound practices and culture in a seminar setting, and with sound as an applied creative practice in the studio.

Sehman is an artist-scholar whose recent work focuses on videographic criticism in horror film soundtracks, with an emphasis on temporality and the body. He is also active as a composer of experimental electro acoustic music, where his work utilizes diverse tools and processes, including analog synthesis, acoustic instruments, generative and chance processes, found sound, field recording, and video.
