We gather around a man on a gurney, dressed in yellow isolation gowns and N95 masks, listening to the story the ambulance crew tells us about John, 76-year-old male, transported from Garden Villa. He tested COVID positive three days ago, staff called 911 because his oxygen saturations were low. History of a stroke, documentation of a do not resuscitate order, comfort measures. Pretty much comatose. Medics and I slide him from their gurney to our stretcher, connect him to oxygen, blood pressure cuff, cardiac monitoring.

Winter 2021

Hi Hilary, I just wanted to tell you that I got into nursing school! I just found out that I've been accepted to the accelerated bachelors of nursing program at Idaho State University! It begins summer semester and is a one year program so by next summer I will have my bachelors in nursing! :)  Hope all is well with you, and I just wanted to thank you for all the help, encouragement, and advice you've given me the past four years, it has really meant a lot to me.

A note on the current work of Fairhaven Alums, Natalie Eberts, ‘13 and Teresa Derr, ’20.
Natalie Eberts was accepted into and is currently a 1L at the Case Western Reserve University of School of Law, Cleveland, Ohio. This followed her work in Tanzania, Somaliland, and Rwanda.
Teresa Derr is currently an intern in the Presidential Internship Program at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco.

Marissa McGinnis was accepted into University of San Francisco's MFA creative writing program for the creative non-fiction genre!

Elana Cohen just got accepted into a Master’s program for counseling at Loyola University!

Kasey Cruz, a senior at Fairhaven College, with a concentration in Global Justice and Sustainability, and with (3) minors in Economics, International Studies, and Japanese, has been accepted into the following graduate programs:
    1    The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), (M.Sc. in Development Studies)
    2    The Sciences Po/King’s College Dual Degree Program, namely
    a    Master of International Development, The Paris Institute of Political Studies (Institut d'études politiques de Paris), (Sciences Po)
    b    M.Sc. in Emerging Economies and International Development, King’s College, London.

Alejandra Cabrales LDJ is currently in her 1L at Idaho School of Law. She was the recipient of the Northwest Justice Project legal summer internship.  

Aisha Mansour has so far been accepted into:
SFSU Ethnic Studies
UWB Cultural Studies
and her top choice,
SDSU Ethnic Studies, with the advisor of her choice.

Dania Jaramillo was accepted to University of Washington's School of Education, MEd degree program in Social and Cultural Foundations, beginning fall 2021
