Kylie Glover "Comfort Measures"
We gather around a man on a gurney, dressed in yellow isolation gowns and N95 masks, listening to the story the ambulance crew tells us about John, 76-year-old male, transported from Garden Villa. He tested COVID positive three days ago, staff called 911 because his oxygen saturations were low. History of a stroke, documentation of a do not resuscitate order, comfort measures. Pretty much comatose. Medics and I slide him from their gurney to our stretcher, connect him to oxygen, blood pressure cuff, cardiac monitoring.
