Inkspeak

InkSpeak is Fairhaven College’s annual arts and literary magazine. Fairhaven College students, professors, alumni, staff and other affiliates are invited to submit their poetry, prose, creative nonfiction, comics, graphic novellas, scripts, and other creative endeavors. Early submissions are given priority as well as editorial feedback.

Submission Guidelines

1) Each author/artist may submit up to five pieces total. Poetry must not exceed 90 lines. Prose and scripts must not exceed 2500 words.

2) Each piece must be the original work of the submittant. Pieces that have been published elsewhere cannot be submitted to InkSpeak, nor can pieces that may yet appear in other publications.

3) All submittants will be informed at the conclusion of their submittal deadline whether their pieces have been accepted for that issue. Submittants may be contacted regarding the editorial process as well.

4) Submittants are not required to make editorial changes when requested but refusal may change acceptance status.

How to Submit

You may submit by hand to the current Editor-in-Chief, by email, or by drop box (we prefer email). The dropbox is located within the mailboxes on the third floor of Fairhaven.

EACH SUBMISSION MUST HAVE A COVER LETTER THAT INCLUDES THE SUBMITTANT’S NAME, PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL ADDRESS, AFFILIATION TO FAIRHAVEN COLLEGE (WHEN APPLICABLE) AND THE TITLE OF EACH PIECE SUBMITTED.

If submitting by email, please write “SUBMISSION” in the subject line. Attach a cover letter and the pieces (in one document, please). Your name should appear only on the cover letter, and the title of each piece should be clear.

Send to inkspeakmag@gmail.com. If submitting by hand or dropbox all submissions must include a cover letter. Submissions must be on separate sheets of paper, the titles should be clear, and the submittant’s name should only be found on the cover letter. Please staple your pieces together to ensure we get everything in the right place. If you submit by dropbox or hand, upon acceptance we will request a digital copy. If submitting art, photography, music or film, the work must be on discs or emailed to inkspeakonline@gmail.com.

For more information, please email inkspeakmag@gmail.com.
