Harvey Gelder Scholarship

The Harvey Gelder scholarship was established in honor of Harvey Gelder. Gelder was chair of the WWU Mathematics Department and a founding member of Fairhaven's faculty who taught math and science.

The Harvey Gelder scholarship is a $500 award given to one upper-division Fairhaven student with a demonstrated interest in math and/or science.

Application Requirements

1. Write and submit an essay in which you describe your educational background and interest in math and/or science. Moreover, describe your academic goals and how you plan to engage with math and/or science in your remaining time at Fairhaven.

Guidelines for Essay: Your essay should be 500 words maximum in length, double-spaced, using 12 point-font, and with 1-inch margins.
