The Finnish Health Care System.

We will share information about the Finnish Health Care System. This will include a brief overview of its legislative foundation, its funding, and its evolving structure. We will also discuss challenges for the system. We will conclude by presenting opportunities for digital health solutions to address some of these challenges.

Elisa Snicker, Lecturer, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Kuopio, Finland.

Elisa is a health and social care specialist (MSc Econ and Bus Admin & MSc Health Sci., RN). She works as lecturer and is in charge of the Finnish multidisciplinary master's degree Programme in Digital Health. She is interested in developing social and health care processes and management utilizing digitalization.

Liisa Klemola, Lecturer, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Kuopio, Finland.

Liisa (Ph.D., RN) works as a lecturer at Savonia University of Applied Sciences. She is the teacher in charge of the multidisciplinary master's degree Programme in Digital Health. Liisa has also worked as a Registered Nurse at the Kuopio University Hospital and as a Researcher at the University of Kuopio.

Bryn Lane, Part-time Lecturer, Master of Digital Health Program, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Kuopio, Finland.

Bryn retired from the Royal Bank of Canada in 2014 after a 25-year career in finance and investing. Since 2018, he has lived in Finland and taught part-time as a lecturer. Bryn has an MBA with an emphasis in finance and international business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is interested in developing understanding and collaboration between US and Finnish academic institutions and individuals.
