About

I oversee the advising program at Fairhaven College, instruct the FAIR 101A course, and am a resource to students for academic planning at Fairhaven College! I'm a Bellingham native who studied English and creative writing for my own education. I hold a BA and an MFA from the University of Montana in Creative Writing - Poetry. I have taught English composition and poetry, workshops and trainings for a variety of adult learners. My 16-year career has been focused on increasing access to education and healthcare for historically underserved populations -- beginning with working in children's mental health and subsequently working in higher education in the community college system and here at Fairhaven College. I am passionate about partnering with students to support them on their journeys: providing individualized services, developing equitable processes, and cultivating a culture of discovery. I serve on the board of the Bellingham Public Schools Foundation, and I spend my free time exploring the outdoors with my family, reading, writing, cooking, and working in the garden.
