Course Description

This course builds off the concepts and techniques learned in Intro to Audio Recording and Intro to Pro Tools and allows students to implement them in the usage of a professional recording studio. Through various hands-on projects and exercises, students will become more competent in the use of professional recording equipment in a multi-room recording facility. This class will focus on the usage of the industry standard recording software, Avid Pro Tools, and students will be expected to continue to develop effective usage of all Pro Tools functions and hot keys throughout the quarter.

In addition to regular class time students will be expected to spend around 30-40 hours working on projects in the studio outside of class time and attend a weekly small group lab to work on exercises that will help build several key foundational skills.

Upon completion of this course students should have the necessary skills be able to produce recordings in most professional studios.
