Course Description

This course provides an opportunity for students to explore the Outback while we discuss food, farming, sustainability, and methods for regenerating the environment. FA 297 will cover seasonal aspects of farm work, ecosystem maintenance, and important late-winter tasks like pruning and inoculating mushroom logs. Class sessions are two hours each week in the Outback Farm; in addition, students will have reading assignments, a small independent project to illustrate an idea to improve an aspect/area of the farm, and a final self-evaluation.
