Jessica Gigot

Visiting Assistant Professor of Food Systems

My interests and academic background are in agriculture, food systems and creative writing. This year at Fairhaven College, I am offering coursework focused on global food sovereignty, soil biology, poetry and agroecology. In addition to teaching, I run a small, organic farm in the Skagit Valley called Harmony Fields that grows herbs and specialty produce and raises sheep. I received my PhD in Horticulture from Washington State University in 2011 and my MFA in Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University in 2014.
