Course Description

In this course students will learn the basics of Sound Design and will apply their knowledge and skills to expressing stories through sound. Essentially, they will be using sound to create a reality that can communicate an idea or form connections with listeners. This will be accomplished through lectures, discussions, individual projects, and in class group work. We will cover some of the applications of Sound Design in different mediums including, theatre, film, and sound art. This class will focus primarily on the conceptual elements of Sound Design reinforced by technical skills.
